After the design of the Akade chair was finalised, Brdr Krüger asked to define how a contemporary representation of the design would look like, both for colors and materials.
The result was made in two stages, a core selection that would resonate in a modern home, and an editorially exsiting choises that would look amazing when promoting the chairs.
As the core structure is the wooden leg frame, we wanted to use classic wood species as oak, as it is strong and versatile, and can be treated both with picmented oil and fumentation.
The textiles where chosen to accent the wood frame, by creating a soft and comfortable seat and backrest.
The metal frame is the secondary accent and contrast to the wooden frame, that can be choosen to either be a complimentery element or something that stands out, with either the painted, blackend or chromed.
A rich yellow and a dark burgundy Arkade chair was made for the launch of the series, and shot for Wallpaper magazine.
