Combining minimal utilitarian with soft and warm, in a modest Copenhagen apartment.
The architectually inspired elemtents contrasts the old 1900 building, and is both light and grounded at the same time.
The concept behind the kitchen, was based on how the most minimal kitchen would look ad work in a 1900 apartment with limited ceiling height.
Part of the design was to add storage, but combining the storage with a staircase into one of the bedrooms, creating a symbiosis between the kitchen and the rest of the apartment
The wooden element dogma is a balance between sharp and soft elements, where the rounded edge is the areas used to interact with the functions of the kitchen, such as gribs and drawer handles, and the sharper edges is for more static elements of the kitchen
Since the family had a specific needs for storage, one draw has made to meassure inserts for tea and sake cups
The greenstreet kitchen is part of a full scale design scope for the appartment, and includes design such as a full staircase ending in a shelving unit, full bathroom, bedrooms with build in cabinets and walkin closet.
